Completely seduced by this dream destination? Since 2009, you can travel to the USA without a visa, thanks to the visa waiver program. ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) was set up to facilitate the work of the American authorities and simplify the travel authorization process for applicants.

To apply for ESTA online, all you need to do is meet certain conditions: you must be a national of one of the countries covered by the VWP, have a valid passport (biometric or electronic passport), be traveling to the USA by air or sea, and be leaving on a tourist, business or transit trip.

If you meet all these criteria, you have two options:

You’ll receive a reply within 72 hours of submitting your application. And if you don’t have time to visit Hawaii in its entirety during your stay, you can simply buy new plane tickets, as the ESTA is valid for two years!

An ESTA refusal is rare, but if it happens to you, it may be due to an error in filling in the form; in this case, you can try your luck again about ten days after your first application. Otherwise, you need to apply for a visa at the American embassy or consulate.
