What is the ESTA declaration?

In existence since 2009, the ESTA declaration allows you to enter the United States without a visa. But what exactly is it, and how do you get it?

ESTA declaration for the United States: what is it?

The ESTA declaration is an authorization procedure for travel to the USA. It allows nationals of countries participating in the VWP(Visa Waiver Program) to simply apply for ESTA to enter the USA. It is important to note, however, that only the immigration officer at customs can authorize your entry into the USA. The ESTA is merely a “ticket” authorizing you to present yourself at the country’s border.

But don’t worry, if you’ve filled in your ESTA questionnaire correctly, there’s no reason for the agent to refuse you entry! In order to apply, you need to meet certain conditions:

ESTA declaration: how to obtain it?

The ESTA declaration is a simplified authorization for travel to the USA. As such, it’s easy to obtain! You only need to apply online. Make sure you have an online payment method (credit card or Paypal account). You can visit the official U.S. ESTA website or fill in the form directly on a private platform.

The ESTA declaration for minors or adults takes the form of a form on which you fill in information about yourself (surname, first name, passport number, etc.) and your trip (reason for trip, local address, emergency contact). Be careful not to omit any details, as this may result in your declaration being rejected by customs, or in your having to amend your ESTA. Each application requires payment of a $21 processing fee.

Not sure when to apply for ESTA? It’s easy, the application process is fairly short, but we advise you to apply as soon as possible! If you have any further questions about your application, you can use our online helpdesk.
