With top-quality teaching, large campuses and a wide range of extracurricular activities, it’s easy to understand why students want to spend part of their university studies on the other side of the Atlantic. Harvard, MIT, Princeton and Yale are just some of the universities many students dream of attending. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO STUDY IN THE USA?

School tuition fees live up to the reputation of American universities. Indeed, a large number of educational establishments are ranked among the best in the world.

As in France, there are both public and private universities.

Tuition fees for a university year range from €15,000 to €50,000.

HOW TO FINANCE YOUR STUDIES IN THE USA?

The cost of education can be a daunting prospect, especially if you don’t come from a wealthy family, but there are several solutions to help you finance your studies in the USA.

In the first instance, it is possible to obtain a scholarship, although this remains difficult for foreign students. In most cases, financial aid is awarded to students with special talent and extraordinary skills, both intellectual and athletic, as universities are highly selective.

Secondly, it’s possible for students to combine coursework with a job. You’ll have no trouble finding a job on campus! You can work in catering, library surveillance, etc.

Finally, you can apply for a loan from your bank. This is a decision not to be taken lightly, as it’s a major commitment.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO TO STUDY IN THE UNITED STATES?

Once you’ve taken care of the financial side of things, you’ll need to complete a number of administrative formalities. If you want to come to the United States andstudy at one of the world’s leading universities, you need to apply for an F1 visa.

The process can be lengthy, so it’s best to plan ahead. Before applying for a visa, you must be admitted to a host university in the USA. You must then complete the l-20 form, which is used to register students with SEVIS or Student and Exchange Visitor Information. A second form must be completed, the DS-160. You must complete this form as honestly as possible, as the American authorities are far from flexible. You must pay a certain fee for your visa application. A 10-digit number will be issued to you, so don’t lose it – you’ll need it. For the final stage, you’ll have an appointment at the U.S. embassy, which will be decisive. Once your application has been accepted, you can study in the USA and begin your American dream!
