How to fill out the ESTA form
Going on vacation is a project that needs to be prepared for, even more so when your destination is the United States of America! To be allowed to set down your luggage, you’ll first need to fill in your ESTA form.
What is the ESTA Form?
The ESTA France form facilitates your departure for the USA. It is part of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) set up by the American authorities. It allows nationals of the 39 participating countries to do without a visa application.
You need to fill in an online form, which will be checked and approved by the administrative agents of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Once obtained, the ESTA remains valid for 2 years and grants the right to remain in the country for a maximum of 90 days.
How do I complete the ESTA form?
To complete the ESTA form, you need to be connected to the Internet, as it can only be accessed online. The ESTA form is presented as follows:
- The first part asks you to enter information about your identity;
- A second part where you will have to fill in information about your passport and your stay (don’t worry if your program is still vague, the ESTA application can even be made without any specific plans);
- Finally, a third part where you have to answer yes or no to a series of questions.
You also need to make sure you have a biometric or electronic passport. If you don’t, you won’t be able to get your passport.
You’ll find the ESTA declaration online, either on the official U.S. website or on our esta-officiel-usa.com platform. We offer unique services such as verification and correction (if necessary) of the information you enter (which can be very useful, as in the event of an error your ESTA form will be refused), a simplified form fully translated into French, and a helpdesk available to answer any questions you may have. The application is not free of charge: you’ll need to pay $14 to validate your ESTA form. This amount corresponds to the fee imposed by the United States: $10 goes to organizations responsible for promoting the USA internationally, and the remaining $4 is used to fund the administrations responsible for processing ESTA forms.
NB: ESTA does not allow you to work orstudy at an American university.
