TIME REQUIRED TO OBTAIN ESTA
38 countries, including France, are taking part in the Visa Waiver Program. This means that their nationals can benefit from visa-free travel to the United States. Interested inESTA? Our experts can tell you all about the ESTA application process.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE AN ESTA?
ESTA was created to facilitate entry to the United States for nationals of certain countries.
To qualify, you must meet a number of criteria, such as :
- be a national of a Visa Waiver Program member country (certain dual nationalities are automatically excluded);
- staying in the USA for tourism or business, or simply transiting American soil;
- travel with a U.S.-approved airline;
- stay in the United States for up to 90 days;
- a valid electronic or biometric passport;
- correctly complete the mandatory ESTA questionnaire, then validate the application by paying the processing fee.
If you want to receive your ESTA as quickly as possible, you need to be careful when filling in the form. The form consists of three sections:
- traveler’s identity ;
- reasons for staying in the USA ;
- medical and criminal records.
The information must correspond strictly to reality, or risk being refused authorization by the American authorities.
To limit this, esta-officiel-usa.com can help you obtain your ESTA.
Our teams check your answers one by one. You receive your ESTA within 72 hours, usually the same day.
DEADLINES FOR A NEW ESTA APPLICATION IN THE EVENT OF REFUSAL
ESTA refusals are very rare, but if you’re unlucky, you’ll have to wait 10 days before applying for a new authorization.
In this case, please check each answer carefully and avoid typos or reversed letters or numbers.
If the authorization is approved, you will receive your official ESTA certificate by e-mail, which you can download in PDF format. If your application is rejected again, you will have no choice but to apply for another form of authorization, such as a visa.
ESTA VALIDITY PERIOD
The ESTA form is valid for two years. It is therefore possible to stay several times during this period, subject to a maximum stay of 90 days.
Please note, however, that if your information (marital status, passport number, etc.) changes over time, you must order a new ESTA without delay.
If you don’t, you could be refused entry by the Department of Homeland Security in the event of a customs check.
If you wish to order an updated ESTA, the procedure is the same as for a first-time application. The delivery time also remains unchanged, i.e. a maximum of 72 hours, usually the same day.
