REAPPLYING FOR AN ESTA AFTER A REFUSAL
TheESTA is issued in most cases. If, however, your application is rejected, you should first analyze the reasons. esta-officiel-usa.com advises you on the points to check before making a new ESTA application after rejection.
WHY WAS MY ESTA APPLICATION REJECTED?
All non-American citizens are required to have a valid authorization to visit the United States. This may be a visa, an ESTA or a green card. The ESTA is the solution most travelers choose. It is easier and less time-consuming to obtain than the other two documents. Valid for two years, it is also very cost-effective.
If you have already submitted an ESTA application but it has been rejected, start by checking the following points:
- the civil status registered must correspond to the information given on the passport (surname, first name, status, etc.);
- the passport must be biometric or electronic and cover the entire duration of the stay ;
- You must be a citizen of one of the countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program but not a dual national of Iraq, Syria, Iran or Somalia;
- you must travel with a U.S.-approved airline and have a return or onward ticket showing that you have been in the U.S. for no more than 90 days;
- your profile must not pose a threat to the United States.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A NEW ESTA?

You receive your authorization in less than 72 hours, usually the same day.
If your ESTA application is rejected, you may consider that your profile is not eligible. In fact, US Homeland Security personnel have full authority over entry to the country, whether before departure or after the plane has already landed!
So, if your new ESTA application is rejected, you’ll need to turn to other forms of authorization, such as a visa or green card. To do this, please contact your consulate or theAmerican embassy in your country.
