APPLY FOR AN ESTA ON THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE

The ESTA is open to all nationals of member countries of the Visa Waiver Program who wish to stay temporarily (less than 90 days) in the United States(ESTA Las Vegas, Miami, New York…). It is therefore important to know where and how to fill in the form, for example on the official American website managed by the Department of Homeland Security.

WHY USE THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE?

Before you travel to the U.S. for business, transit or tourism, don’t forget to apply for your ESTA at least 72 hours before departure. Without this authorization, which can be obtained over the Internet, you won’t even be able to board your plane! So bring along your passport valid for the USA, your travel tickets and your credit card, and the process can begin.

Numerous sites are available to collect your information and send you your certified ESTA document. For example, you can choose the official website of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This has the advantage of being available in many languages.

The process is simple: access the form, then gradually fill in all the information as requested. If you’re in any doubt about which documents to refer to, you can easily consult the advice pages. Make sure you meet all the criteria for an ESTA applicant, otherwise you’ll need a visa to enter the USA.

The questionnaire is divided into three types of items to be completed:

1. Your identity and personal situation ;

2. Your passport and your trip (purpose, place of residence…) ;

3. Your state of health and any legal history.

The official website is therefore a convenient way of filling in all the required elements, but it does not protect you from the possibility of an error requiring a new application after refusal, or obliging you to make changes to your ESTA.

The ESTA is not the only step you need to take before you can enjoy the American dream: keep in mind all the formalities involved in entering the United States.
