ESTA USA: WHAT CONDITIONS MUST BE MET?
To obtain your ESTA USA, you must complete the form on our website. The form consists of three different sections relating to the topics described below.
ESTA USA: YOUR MEDICAL AND LEGAL HISTORY
In this section, you must answer a series of questions (yes or no) about possible health problems (mental problems, contagious diseases, substance abuse problems), illegal activities (participation in genocide, serious past convictions, false ESTA declaration to enter the U.S., violation of child custody rights…).
Obtaining your ESTA USA will depend on the answers you provide in this category.
If you answer “Yes” to any of these questions, the U.S. authorities consider that your trip poses a risk to the country’s internal security or violates U.S. law, and you cannot obtain ESTA USA admission.
ESTA USA: YOUR IDENTITY AND PASSPORT
You’ll need to provide information from your passport (marital status, passport number, date of issue, expiry date, etc.), a postal address in France, a valid e-mail address and details of your current employment status. The identity of your parents will also be required.
ESTA USA: YOUR TRAVEL PLANS
In this category of the ESTA USA questionnaire, you will be asked to provide information about your stay, including your address in the U.S. and an emergency contact.
Your ESTA USA will of course not be issued if you are inadmissible or if you plan to stay in the USA for more than 90 days. You won’t be able to receive an ESTA USA if your aim is to work in the USA. If this is your wish, you must apply for a green card for work, which is one of the USA visas available. To find out more about USA visas, read our article on the subject. It will help you understand the different visas offered by the American government.
